All of our recycling bins are located in the front of the market and marked accordingly.

 Please see a member of our staff with any questions.

 

 

Any old and/or used jewelry:

We collect to help out a local that turns old jewelry into new creations. 

 

Bottle Caps through Green Tree Plastics' ABC Promise Partnership: 

ALL caps must be clean and dry. Please see a staff member directly as we will need to confirm if they're useable. The caps will be recycled and made into a bench for use at the market. We hope to educate people about this local program and encourage others to participate too. Learn more here.

 

Crayons through the National Crayon Recycling Program:

Collect any crayons as they are – wrapped, broken or barely used, they can all be recycled. 

 

Why recycle crayons? Crayons are a petroleum product that take many years to biodegrade.  MORE THAN 500,000 pounds of crayons are discarded every year in the U.S. alone! -- Crazy Crayons is partnered with the National Crayon Recycle Program to recycle old, unwanted crayons into new fun-shaped crayons, keeping thousands of pounds out of landfills and back into the creative hands of children! – We will be stocking these at the market.

All cork must be 100% natural. 

NO synthetic or synthetic blends.



Bras through The Bra Recyclers: Info/FAQ

 

ACCEPTS:

    • New, gently used, and worn Bras: regular, sports, mastectomy, bralettes, nursing bras, breast prosthesis, bra pads, and inserts (all sizes).


DOES NOT ACCEPT:

    • Stained or wet items

    • No shapewear, girdles, pantyhose, tights, slips, camisoles, garters

    • No swimsuits


Beauty Products & Packaging through TerraCycle:

Any product container with the recycling numbers #1, #2, #5 and over 4x4 inches can be placed in Evansville’s local recycling bins. The rest you may place in our recycling bin!

Plastic razors and packaging through Gillette x TerraCycle: Gillette Recycling Info

 

Recycle all brands of blades, razors, and plastic packaging. -- Please cover all blades so they are not exposed; this can be the original packaging, an old baggie, or covered with aluminum foil.

 

NO LOOSE BLADES ACCEPTED– These can be added into a Razor Blade Tin, taped over and tossed into your local metal recycling.

 

Pens, pencils and markers through Terracycle:

 

Accepts ANY Brand: Highlighters, Marker Caps, Markers, Mechanical Pencils, Pen Caps, Pens, Permanent Marker Caps, Permanent Markers

DOES NOT Accept: Paint Brushes & Wooden Pencils


Oral Care through Colgate x Terracycle: 

 

Accepts ANY Brand: Used or empty toothpaste tubes and caps, toothbrushes, toothpaste cartons, toothbrush outer packaging, and floss containers.

 

NOTE: Electric toothbrushes, battery toothbrushes, and/or their parts are not accepted for recycling through the program.
